Replacement process of mechanical seal for water pump

1. Ensure that corresponding tools are prepared for vertical and horizontal pumps. For those with a power exceeding 20kw, prepare lifting frames and take safety precautions

2. Check the equipment archive to determine the replacement part model, collect from the warehouse, and check inventory;

3. Prepare tools such as socket wrenches, ring wrenches, solid wrenches, butter, mechanical seal factory kerosene, crowbars, cloths, pullers, etc

4. Currently, the water inlet valve is closed. Once it is in place, open it by one-third, and then close the water outlet valve (in the same way as closing the water inlet valve)

5. Exhaust from the pressure gauge until the pressure is reduced to zero

6. Disconnect the air switch and hang a warning sign

7. Bolt loosening agent is convenient for rust removal and loosening screws

8. Do not apply excessive force when removing screws. The wrench must be securely in place. After removing the screws, place them in a kerosene container for decontamination.

9. When lifting, ensure it is done horizontally to avoid damaging the impeller. When placing it on its side, do not subject the impeller to strain, as this may cause damage. The junction box should not be placed on the ground, and the wires should not be subjected to strain.

10. When dismantling the impeller screws, use a socket wrench (do not use other wrenches as substitutes, as this may damage the screws) to remove the fastening screws of the impeller (pay attention to the direction of application of force)

11. When using a puller, ensure that the intermediate rod is fixed to the impeller with a threaded rod and the pump is mechanically sealed with screws to avoid damaging the threaded rod; the tension rod should be fixed in a regular triangle shape (60 degrees) with the fixed point located at the casting node of the impeller. After tightening the rod, use a hammer to tap it to avoid damaging the impeller.

12. When removing the water seal, avoid damaging the installation site, and clean the installation position thoroughly

13. When installing a new seal, avoid contacting the joint surface of the water seal with hard objects. The installation must be level, and the contact surface should be free of hard particles. The rubber sealing ring must be installed in place, and the pressure of the spring should be moderate. If the pressure is too low, a metal pad should be added. The pressure should not be too high, as this will reduce the service life of the water seal. The motor should not be rotated in reverse to minimize damage to the pressure spring.

When installing the impeller, do not directly hit it with a hammer. Instead, use a copper rod, aluminum rod, or wooden rod to indirectly knock it into place. Apply lubricating oil between the impeller and the motor shaft.

15. Install the motor; apply butter to all screws, and tighten them gradually and symmetrically.

16. Adjustment of clearance: Open the end cover of the motor fan blade and manually rotate the fan wheel. The rotation should be smooth, and there should be no friction with the impeller

17. Gradually open the water inlet and outlet valves, exhaust until water flows out, then jog start and check for leaks

18. Check the tools; remove any stains on the tools. Count the number of tools.

19. Clean the equipment and ensure the cleanliness of other areas that may be contaminated during this maintenance.

Fill out the maintenance record form according to the prescribed format, and have the supervisor sign and approve the quality of replacement and maintenance. Update the equipment maintenance records in a timely manner.
